The unsung heroes of handball are those that think up, set up, write up, promote, run, and break down anything that has to do with the betterment and advancement of our great sport of handball. That description fits perfectly the profile of Tom Urquart. It started on the all-powerful San Jose YMCA courts committee and went on to Board of the NCHA, running the Bay Counties League, and the San Jose Labor Day tournament.  

Tom was orginally a very good doubles player, and one of those rare individuals that could play the left and right side equally well. After a short time, he felt he had to do more for handball than just play, and has been doing so for many many years.
