Lane McMillan
The Olympic Club
Inducted as Player in 1983
By Geoff Capell
Handball history has not recorded a lot about Lane McMillin, because he played in the old AAU days of the 1910's, 20's and 30's. He represented The Olympic Club and was mainly noted for his great doubles play. He was good enough to win three national Doubles AAU Championships. He won the National Doubles Championships in 1924 in Los Angeles with partner Jack Donovan and after a years absense again won the National Doubles title in 1926 in St. Paul with partner Jack Donovan. Three years later he teamed with, arguable the greatest handball player of all time, Al Banuet to win the 1929 National Doubles Championship in New York.
