Ed is a versatile handball player, having mastered both 3-wall and 4-wall handball courts. And, he has won both singles and doubles national titles on both of those surfaces. With all of these wins, he became a USHA Grand Master in 2016 with over 10 National titles.

However, winning did not come easily or quickly to Ed. In 2007, he was in his mid-50s before he won a National 50B Singles title. And, it wasn' until 2012 that he won his next nationals, the 4-wall National Master 60+ Doubles with Tom Martinez. Since then he is frequently playing in the finals and winning. Ed also has a World Handball Championship 65+ Singles title. Alberta, Canada, he beat Dan Scilley, Greg Raya and finally Eugene Kennedy to win that hard fought title.
