Cass Sove
Sportsmen of Stanislaus Club
Inducted as a Contributor in 2000
by Geoff Capell
Cass (Mordock) Sove was born in Oakland, moved to Sacramento where in high school she was a straight "A" student and excelled in athletics and dance. At Occidental, she majored in French and Bio Chemistry, graduated and moved back to Sacramento entering the teaching profession. She then met her future husband Tom, and the magic began.
Both Cass and Tom for the last twenty years have run tournaments, got handball into the schools curriculums, organized instruction and handball play days, been on the board of directors both locally and nationally, organized and put on referees clinics, been involved with the pro tour, and been editors of the Scoop handball magazine. Without Cass’s help, the NCHA would not be where it it today.
Congratulations on your induction into the Northern California Handball Hall of Fame!
